MEET THE OWNER

Steve Sommers and his two sons.

A2Z Concrete is family-owned and family-run. When you call, you talk to Steve. When the truck shows up, it's Steve, Jason, and Sheldon doing the work — not subcontractors, not a rotating crew, not someone you've never met.

That's why our reviews say things like "treated our home as if it were their own" and "solved a problem no one else could." Because for us, every job has our family name on it.

We recently had our back patio redone, and I truly cannot say enough good things about this concrete company. They treated our home as if it were their own. The finished patio looks absolutely amazing.

QUESTIONS WE GET A LOT

Straight answers, no fluff.

How long does a typical concrete project take?
Most residential projects wrap in 1–3 days of actual work, plus about a week of cure time before you should drive on it or put heavy furniture on it. Larger stamped patios or pool decks take longer. You'll get a real timeline at the estimate, not a guess.
Can you give me a ballpark price over the phone?
I can give you a rough range based on square footage, but I won't quote a real number until I've seen the site. There's too much that affects price — slope, access, prep work, design — to fairly quote it sight unseen. The estimate visit is free and only takes 15 minutes.
What happens if it rains during my project?
If we're mid-pour and weather rolls in, I cover the slab and we wait it out. If it rains the day before a scheduled pour, I'll call you and reschedule — pouring on saturated ground sets you up for cracks down the road. Better to wait two days than fix a slab in two years.
Do you offer a warranty on concrete work?
Yes. I stand behind the workmanship in writing. Concrete will hairline crack here and there — that's chemistry, not craftsmanship — but anything structural or finish-related, you call me and I make it right. I'll walk you through the specifics when I drop off the estimate.
How do payments work?
I take a deposit when we schedule (covers materials), and the balance is due when the job is finished and you're happy with it. Cash, check, or card. No financing games, no "first day" pressure. If you're not satisfied, we don't get paid the rest.
Do you serve Lake City and the surrounding North Central Florida area?
Yes — Lake City is one of our main service areas. We're based in Fort White, so Lake City is a short drive up the road for us. We do driveways, stamped patios, pool decks, and repair work there all the time, and the estimate visit is still free.
How far from Fort White will A2Z Concrete travel for a job?
Our shop is in Fort White, and we regularly work in Gainesville, Lake City, High Springs, Alachua, Branford, Newberry, Trenton, Bell, Lake Butler, and Williford. If you're a little outside that range, call anyway — worst case I tell you we can't make it work, but we usually can.
Can you pour a concrete driveway in Gainesville's clay-and-sand soil?
Yes, and it's exactly why prep matters so much around Gainesville and Alachua County. We compact the sub-base properly and reinforce with rebar so the slab doesn't settle and crack when that soil shifts. A driveway is only as good as what's under it.
Do you do stamped concrete patios in High Springs?
All the time — stamped patios and pool decks are some of our favorite work in High Springs and the surrounding springs country. Stone, slate, brick, or wood-plank patterns, colored and sealed to handle the Florida sun. Call and we'll come take a look at your backyard.
